Chief Ronald A. Ricucci from the Takoma Park Police Department announces the arrest of Darius Ameeche Saxon, 23, of Hyattsville, Maryland, for stolen auto, unauthorized use of vehicle, theft over, providing a false name to police officer, and numerous traffic citations.
On November 21, 2009, at approximately 4:52 p.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 7500 block of New Hampshire Avenue (the Econo Lodge and Quality Inn) for reports of a stolen vehicle at that location. Upon arrival, officers ran a license check and discovered that the vehicle in question was in fact reported as stolen. Saxon was in possession of the stolen vehicle and was arrested and charged with the above offenses. Saxon was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit pending a hearing before the District Court Commissioner.
