On January 26, 2010, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Takoma Park Police Crossing Guard, Carolyn Pinkard, was struck by a motor vehicle while she was directing traffic. She was transported to the Washington Adventist Hospital (WAH), treated for a broken ankle and foot and then released.
