On September 11, 2010, Takoma Park Police responded to Cedar Avenue and Tulip Avenue for reports of an assault that had occurred at approximately 3:20 p.m. The victim, who was visiting from out of town, was walking from the Takoma Park Metro on Cedar Avenue towards Tulip Avenue when he was approached by two black males asking to use his phone. While attempting to accommodate the suspects, they assaulted the victim and he fell to the ground. The suspects, without taking anything, fled up Cedar towards the metro. The victim was not seriously injured. A resident who saw the assault contacted police. The suspects are described as:
Suspect #1: black male in his teens, approximately 6'0 tall, last seen wearing a white t-shirt.
Suspect #2: black male in his teens, last seen wearing a yellow shirt and possibly a yellow baseball hat.
