Takoma Park Police Department Weekly Crime Report: 1/7/11 - 1/13/11

T1 Beat:

Burglary-Residential


7300 block of Piney Branch Rd., on Tuesday, January 11 at 12:54 p.m., an unknown suspect attempted to enter a residence by forcing the front door open. The suspect realized the house was occupied and fled.

T2 Beat:

Larceny-From Auto


7600 block of Carroll Ave., on Tuesday, January 11 between 7:00 a.m. and 7:20 p.m., unknown suspect(s) broke a front passenger window of the vehicle and stole property.

T3 Beat:

Burglary-Residential


1100 block of Larch Ave., between Sunday, January 9 at 9:45 p.m. and Monday, January 10 at 9:00 a.m., unknown suspect(s) entered a vacant house with no sign of force and stole a furnace.

Larceny-From Auto

7400 block of New Hampshire Ave., on Sunday, January 9 at 12:15 p.m., an unknown suspect threw a large rock through the driver’s side window and opened the vehicles glove box removing property.

Arrests:

7600 block of Carroll Ave., on Tuesday, January 11 between 6:46 p.m., a female 69 was arrested and cited for theft.

900 block of Anne St., on Wednesday, January 12 at 11:10 a.m., a female victim left her vehicle running and unattended in her driveway. Suspects approached the vehicle opened the unlocked door and fled the scene in the gray 2010 Acura RDX. At approximately 9:30 p.m. Metropolitan Police Department officers located the stolen vehicle on 1000 block of Otis St. Washington, DC NE and arrested two juvenile males.

7500 block of New Hampshire Ave., on Tuesday, January 11 at 1:21 a.m., a female 23 was arrested for possession of marijuana.

7100 block of Maple Ave., on Tuesday, January 11 at 1:00 p.m., a male 49 was arrested for having an open warrant through Montgomery Country for trespassing.
