**Corrected as to name of street: Lockney Avenue**
At approximately 9:07 this evening [September 14, 2011], Takoma Park Police received approximately 10 phone calls for shots fired in the area of Lockney Avenue. The complainants who called heard approximately eight shots. Takoma Park Police responded to the area and conducted a search of the area for approximately one hour and were unable to find any alleged shooters or evidence of shots being fired. Officers will continue to check the area for the remainder of the night in an effort to locate possible shooters. We appreciate all the residents who contacted the Takoma Park Police on this incident. We will update this information if anything new develops.
