On September 29, 2011, at approximately 1:24 a.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 7200 block of Trescott Avenue for a report of shots fired. As Takoma Park Police were responding, calls were still being taken by Communications providing different locations for the sounds of shots fired. A total of nine calls were received. Based on the calls and the areas that were given, a concentrated canvass was conducted in the 7200 block of Garland Avenue. During the canvass, an officer located two 9 mm shell casings - both recovered in the 7200 block of Garland Avenue. There are no reports of injuries and a suspect(s) has not been located. We will update you as information becomes available.
