Attempt Stolen Auto - Community Advisory

On October 23, 2011, at approximately 2:50 p.m., Takoma Park Police responded to the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue for reports of an attempt stolen auto. At approximately 2:30 p.m., a witness saw the suspect vehicles, a red Jeep, as well as an unknown black vehicle and a third unknown vehicle, in front of the victim's Dodge Caravan. The Dodge Caravan had been driven up on to a curb. Two young black males with dreadlocks were seen jumping out of the Dodge Caravan and into the red Jeep and then all three vehicles headed down Lincoln Avenue in the direction of Elm Avenue. In all, there were six suspects who could only be described as young black males all with dreadlocks. Lookouts were given for all three suspect vehicles. An inspection of the Dodge Caravan revealed that the ignition had been removed and was recovered on the passenger side floorboard. There was also a brick found on the dashboard.
