Chief Ronald A. Ricucci of the Takoma Park Police Department announces that Aaron McDonald, 47, of Washington, D.C., plead guilty to 2nd Degree Burglary on September 15, 2011, for the burglary of the Old Town Takoma Ace Hardware Store in September 2010. McDonald was sentenced to five years in the Maryland Department of Corrections.
On September 28, 2010, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Takoma Park Police were working a plainclothes robbery and burglary detail. McDonald was identified as a suspect for a string of burglaries in the Old Town section of Takoma Park. An arrest warrant was obtained and service upon McDonald was effected at his place of residence in Washington, D.C., with the assistance of the Metropolitan Police Department.
On September 29, 2010, Aaron McDonald was arrested for two counts of First Degree Burglary, two counts of Theft less than $1,000 and two counts of Malicious Destruction of Property of the Old Town Ace Hardware Store in the 7000 block of Carroll Avenue in Takoma Park, Maryland.
